A List of Fantastic Foreign Films
76I am a fervent movie viewer and I enjoy watching almost all types of movies but my favourite kind is foreign romantic period films. Most Foreign films are not in English so unless you know that language you need to turn on the English subtitle option. Below, I have listed a number of very well structured foreign films which are not only confined to the romantic genre. If you are an ardent foreign movie fanatic like me, you should already know that the language is no barrier here. If a movie is good, after watching it you would not even be able to recall whether it was in English or not as you get so engrossed with the good storyline and cinematography that it stops mattering.

There are some who like romantic comedies while there are some who just love to get lost in the evergreen world of romance in history. I find myself in favour of the latter and have been so ever since I first...

In the mood for love! Definitely I will look into that. I speak Cantonese so it is not foreign to me, LOL. Thanks.
Thanks for the list, I'm gonna bookmark and try and work my way through!
In the mood for love is one of my fav romantic films too. I just saw 2046 recently and for me it was even better, visually stunning, brutally sad and the same haunting score. Kar-Wai Wong is a genius.

I am glad that you included Almodovar and Bertolucci in your list.
Recently, I posted a comparative essay regarding Federico Fellini and Russ Meyer which might be of interest to you. It is titled "La Dolce Pussycat".
What a great list: I've seen Queen Margot and loved it. Have you considered 'dangerous liaisons'?
